After school club activities
At Settrington, we offer a rich variety of after‑school clubs designed to spark children’s interests and provide enjoyable, purposeful activities at the end of the school day. Our programme includes sport, dance, drama, board games, Stay and Play, construction club, gardening, and more. Sport and drama clubs are delivered by external providers and therefore incur a small charge of £3 per session, ensuring specialist, high‑quality provision for the children. All other clubs are run by Settrington staff and are free of charge, allowing every child the opportunity to take part, explore new hobbies, and develop their skills in a supportive and friendly environment.
Extra-curricular activities and trips
At Settrington, we are proud to offer a rich and varied extra‑curricular programme that nurtures curiosity, confidence and a love of learning beyond the classroom. Children have opportunities to take part in sporting competitions, perform in events such as Young Voices, and enjoy inspiring educational visits including trips to York Minster, the York Mosque, Woldies Lavender, our local environment, and local museums. Older pupils experience wider horizons through city breaks to Edinburgh, as well as outdoor and adventurous residentials at Peat Rigg and the Bushcraft Camp at Castle Howard. We also welcome experts and interactive workshops from organisations such as Malton Museum, enriching the curriculum with hands‑on experiences. Leadership and pupil voice are celebrated through our Worship Council, School Council, and a range of lunchtime clubs run by older children, helping them develop responsibility, independence and pride in their school community.
