Welcome to Class 2

Who's in the classroom?

Mrs Hind teaches Monday to Thursday.

Mrs Palmer teaches on a Friday.

Our Teaching Assistants are Mrs Sedman and Mrs Branston from Monday to Friday and Mrs Coverdale helps us on a Monday and Thursday morning.

Spellings will be sent home on a Tuesday. Your child will have been taught the spelling rule in school. It would be helpful if they could practise their spellings at home regularly for their spelling test the following Tuesday. Times tables and quickfire maths will be sent home on a Friday to be practised regularly at home and then tested the following Friday. It would be most appreciated if you could support your child with these homework tasks.

Children will also have a book to read at home and they will read this regularly in school too.

General Information

P.E kits are needed in school all week and should include appropriate indoor and outdoor clothing and footwear please.

Please ensure all clothing and belongings are clearly labelled. Thank you for your help with this.

Each child has been given their own water bottle to keep in school. It is named and is cleaned regularly in school. It is refilled with water each day and your child can refill it during the day if they need to. Please do not send in any additional bottles (unless it is for a packed lunch) as I am sure you can appreciate we would end up with a lot of bottles taking up a lot of space! Please see Mrs Hind or Mrs Palmer if you have any queries about this.

Forest Schools

Class 2 will be take part in Forest schools sessions once a week during the winter term with a qualified Forest Schools Teacher. This is very exciting! As the weather is cold and changeable, please make sure your child has warm clothing such as a hat, gloves, scarf and wellies as well as a warm waterproof winter coat.

Key Stage one chldren receive free fuit for snack time. Year 3 and 4 children are very welcome to bring in a healthy snack of fruit or vegetables.

Dinner money

Please note that all Key Stage One dinners are free. Year 3 and 4's dinner money should be paid online through Parentpay (please see Mrs Towse).

Reading Books and Book Bags

Book bags will be kept in a box in the classroom during the school day for quick access so we can hear children read on a regular basis. Children are able to change their reading books daily. We children read as regularly as we can, at least once a week and for the younger children in the class it will be more than this.

This term Class 2 will on Friday mornings Class 2 have a gymnastics lesson. This takes place in the Village Hall. Please could we ask that your child has suitable footwear which will not mark the floor. We really appreciate your cooperation with this.
