Class One

Summer Term

Welcome back to the second half of our Summer term.  This term we will be learning about animals around the world and especially Meerkats.  We will look at sources of fiction and non-fiction and will also be reading stories from Africa.  We will be locating the continents around the world and finding out where the hot and cold places are.  Our DT challenge will be discovering and designing ways to transport water from one place to another.

We will continue to explore number.  Year 1 will also be covering multiplication, division and fractions.   Reception children will continue their work on sharing, doubling and halving and also looking at counting patterns in 2's, 5's and 10's.

Thank you to all parents who attend our library session on Thursday mornings, the children love to see you there.

Later this term we will start transition for children moving to Year 2 and also for our new starters joining us in September.

Children are now progressing well with their reading and the help you give at home is much appreciated.  Just five minutes everyday supporting them with reading really does make a difference so thank you!

As always, if you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to arrange to see us.
